as shot
with DxO
Here’s another shot that really shows the power of the DxO lighting engine. Much of my photography is shot in weak light in the first or last minutes of the day. Aiming down, typically without any sky to brighten the frame compounds the problem, not to mention the motion of the plane. The resulting images can be a little drab. Look how this shot is transformed by processing with DxO, waking it right up. The fall colors pop out of the trees and there is so much more detail in the boathouses.
Islands are hard to come by here, despite the fact that there are over 1800 of them clustered in just 50 miles of river. This was the chosen spot for business tycoons who made their fortunes in the late 19th century, before taxation began. Many of the islands have passed down like precious heirlooms within families who have summered here for generations and only occasionally is one offered for sale.
