SmartVibrancy

Stunning colors under control by DxO!

Confronted with an image whose colors need livening up, it can sometimes be hard to come to grips with the digital tools available to photographers: the results of adjusting the saturation or tone curves can soon turn into a parody.

But now DxO has perfected SmartVibrancy, which can discriminate between the different hues, making the colors more exciting and yet still respecting the flesh tints and the modeling in your images.

SmartVibrancy lets you :

  • enhance a lackluster image
  • combat atmospheric haze
  • increase sky density and experiment with various creative renderings, without producing exaggerated effects – on faces, for example

SmartVibrancy proves very effective for landscape or travel photos: if backgrounds are comparatively distant, the colors of the scenery often become noticeably diluted. SmartVibrancy lets you give them more punch, without distorting figures in the scene.

On the other hand, reducing the SmartVibrancy level can pull back the highly colored complexions you sometimes get in images with over-saturated colors SmartVibrancy affects the other hues too, but to a lesser degree, to establish a more realistic balance.
