As a wildlife photographer, many times I shoot handheld, in low light and under generally poor conditions. Consequently I have more than my share of problem images which would normally be unusable without access to the miraculous correction modules in DxO Optics Pro. Since I like to be out shooting rather than sitting in front of my computer, the time DxO saves me is worth the price of admission alone. I envy the photographers that get to see the difference this program makes in their images the first time they try it.

I have been a user of the DxO program since it was first issued. I use it because of the incredible difference it makes in my images. I approach evaluating my images in an emotional rather than technical way. I want them as technically perfect as I can get them, which is one of the primary reasons I use this software, but I want emotional content to be the most important criterion. Consequently when I describe why I wanted certain technical corrections to be made I describe them in a non-technical manner, without the emphasis on percentages and decimal points. It’s not done to be touchy feely about the images, it’s just the way I see and understand things.

What specific tip(s) would you give another photographer for using DxO Optics Pro to help them get the most out of their pictures?

What specific tip(s) would you give another photographer for using DxO Optics Pro to help them get the most out of their pictures? In most cases I would tell them to open and set the expert mode to correct their photos by using the default settings for each module, setting the output to tif and then changing the setting back to full auto mode. Then run their images through with the batch setting. You will constantly get uniformly good results and if there is something you don't agree with you can go back and reprocess the image after selectively readjusting them in the expert settings in expert mode.
