It helps me get the best possible quality out of my RAW files,” he says. True emulation, 
not just a filter

Karim believes the key to using DxO FilmPack 8 well is understanding that it’s not a shortcut. “It’s as close as you can get to analog, but there are different ways to approach it. You can be faithful to the original film stock — for example, use Portra 160 in bright conditions, Portra 400 in lower light — or you can flip it. Sometimes I’ll apply Portra 400 to a bright shot and then make adjustments until it feels right. That flexibility opens up a lot of creative possibilities.”
